Intersys’ flagship insurance certificate management software, CertificateManager, has helped transform the way AstraZeneca issues and manages insurance certificates.
We developed the tool to specifically address one of the most complex classes of businesses – Clinical Trials Liability Insurance. Diverse, country-specific rules and bespoke insurer requirements called for a tailored, automated solution.
Intersys partnered with AstraZeneca to create a Microsoft-based web portal designed to centralise, automate, and streamline the issuance and management of insurance certificates across AstraZeneca’s global captive programmes.
The new system provided:
- Tailored request forms per country/regulator
- Configurable workflows for Clinical Trial certificates
- Secure storage and version control of certificates
- Automatic issuance where templates are pre-agreed
- Full transparency and tracking with live dashboards and email notifications
Within six months, CertificateManager had issued 1,600+ Clinical Trial Certificates across 56 countries, making a measurable impact on one of the most difficult insurance administration challenges.

An innovative product — recognised by three insurance awards
Our innovation has been recognised in the wider insurance world as well. Our success with CertificateManager led to nominations in three major insurance industry awards.
In November 2025, we were a ‘Highly Commended’ runner-up in the Technology Solution of the Year category at the European Captive Insurance Review Awards 2025 in Luxembourg.
Soon after, in December, we were finalists in the Excellence in Technology — Service Provider category at the Insurance Times Awards 2025 in London.
Rounding off the hat trick in early 2026, the Intersys team were in Liverpool at the Modern Claims Awards 2026, where we were once again ‘Highly Commended’ in the Tech Initiative of the Year category.
