On a sweltering day in July, the Intersys team headed to the Business Design Centre in London to showcase our services at the annual MGAA Conference 2026.
Since becoming supplier members of the Managing General Agents Association earlier in the year, we’ve been collaborating regularly with the MGAA team, co-hosting webinars, conducting bespoke research for the MGAA market and sharing cyber security and operational resilience advice with the wider delegated authority community.
The annual MGAA Conference is the flagship event in the MGAA calendar, bringing together more than 1200 insurance professionals including intermediaries, capacity providers, brokers and external supplier members from the UK and Ireland.
From our exhibition stand we had the chance to meet fellow members face to face and understand their technology challenges and goals. We had some great conversations with organisations about digital transformations, cyber security and AI adoption.
One of the main themes to emerge from this year’s conference was the reliance of MGAs on new technologies such as AI against the backdrop of increasing regulatory scrutiny from the FCA as well as the challenges of a soft market. John Lloyd OBE’s keynote address reinforced the message of how AI has the potential to transform the MGA sector, but only when it’s supported by the right governance, security and oversight.
Our own research of the MGA market has revealed that AI adoption is outpacing governance. In fact, the MGAA Conference was the perfect platform to launch our new white paper — The Perils and the Potential of AI in the MGA Market: Your Guide to Compliance-Ready Artificial Intelligence, which found that while more than 80% of MGAs are already using AI, almost half (48%) do not yet have a formal AI governance framework in place.
The white paper proved to be a real talking point with many members at the conference.
Said Mark Kirby, Professional Services Director,
“The MGAA Annual Conference 2026 provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with the delegated authority community about the critical topics of cyber security and AI Governance. Too many organisations are already using AI without clear policies, oversight or accountability. The answer isn’t to slow down AI adoption, but to introduce clear governance that allows organisations to use AI safely and responsibly”.
We’d like to thank everyone who stopped at our stand to chat and are looking forward to continuing the conversations over the coming days.
