Intersys® has been providing IT consultancy and managed services for private and public sector organisations since 1996.  Intersys also has Risk Consultancy and software divisions, with an award winning software package in use at three of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused apprentice to join our growing team.

The role will be based in our Woodford Green office, however will also involve attending customer sites, particularly school sites during the apprenticeship.  Over time you will visit customer sites alongside an Intersys consultant but will work towards attending sites on your own.  You will be working on a busy IT Service Desk answering calls from customers as the first point of contact for inbound enquiries.  You will be supporting a wide range of Microsoft products, initially desktop support but developing during the course of the apprenticeship to Windows Server support and hosted solutions, with further development into web, programming or other specialist areas available dependent on aptitude and progress.

Responsibilities

  • Logging client calls, resolving enquiries where possible
  • Escalating to second and third line support as required
  • Carrying out reactive and proactive tasks to agreed procedures
  • Carrying out routine network management tasks including backup and server checks
  • Responding to incidents logged by the customer
  • Progressing all queued assigned service calls
  • Following procedures to carry out fault diagnosis
  • Ensure that all systems used to carry out work activities are updated on a real time basis including detailed and accurate call notes
  • Ensure all customer change requests are appropriately logged and assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Some experience of supporting hardware
  • A demonstrable interest in technology
  • Ability to follow procedures
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Good time management and punctuality
  • Analytical approach with good questioning and listening skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and self-motivated with a positive can do attitude
  • Team player
  • Willingness to listen and learn

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 8:00 – 17:00

All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
